A HUGE Thank You!

Today was the day of my UWP Vocal Recital fundraiser! I was very anxious to perform this recital, but it all turned out fabulously! A special thank you to everyone who came out to support me this afternoon! With the generous donations of everyone in attendance, I managed to raise over $2,600 towards my Up With People fund! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

It was also a blast getting to perform for so many people, and to socialize with everyone after at the great reception! Thanks for coming!

While I've been so fortunate to receive many monetary donations from friends and family, I am also eager to reach out to local businesses for support of my Up With People fundraising! Past UWP students have successfully received gifts of cameras, tennis shoes, work-out clothes, luggage, travel vouchers from travel agencies, etc. If you or any one you know works for or knows of a company I should approach for support in my fundraising efforts, please comment below or email me at apolete@comcast.net. Up With People is a global education and arts organization whose goal is to bridge cultural barriers and create global understanding through service and music. Since its genesis in 1965, the program has offered a unique, unparalleled experience for its international students through the unique mix of program components:
    * Multi-continent international travel
    * Community service-learning
    * Cultural immersion
    * Performing arts
    * Experiential and workshop-based education focused on leadership, communication, global awareness and personal development.

My name is Amy Polete of Highlands Ranch, and I am eager and excited to announce that I will have the pleasure of serving with Up With People in January of 2013. I will have the chance to tour the world with a cast of international peers, performing for thousands and serving communities worldwide. While I am thrilled to be given this opportunity, participation in the program comes at a cost. Each participant is expected to contribute nearly $17,000 in tuition per semester traveled.

I am working hard to raise all the money necessary to travel on my own. I believe I will enjoy and appreciate this experience most if I put forth the effort and time to fundraise the tuition through my own hard work and talents.
